Self-Study Modules

The foundation of our educational outreach is a series of self-study modules.   These modules allow an individual to explore Incarnational Spirituality at his or her own pace and leisure, following the specific interests he or she may have. While the modules are all interrelated and some follow logically on from others in a sequence, each module stands on its own and may be studied in any order a person desires.

In addition to self-study, each module comes with an option to interact with a Lorian faculty member through online question and answer sessions that are held for one week at the beginning of the month.  Also available is the option for personal mentoring, coaching and spiritual direction. The Self Study Modules are designed to provide a flexible way for an individual or a group to learn the basic ideas and practices of Incarnational Spirituality without needing to fit a class schedule into their busy lives.  Each module is a unique combination of written text, audio tapes, and sometimes video presentations and other learning aids.  They are designed for you to study at your own leisure and pace in your home or to be the focus of a study group of friends or like-minded colleagues.

One of the modules, Finding the God Within, presents the teachings and work of Dorothy Maclean, one of the three Founders of the Findhorn Foundation community in northern Scotland, as well as a founding Lorian Associate. The rest of the self-study modules are based on David Spangler’s work in developing Incarnational Spirituality.

Although the modules can be purchased and used independently, their topics fall into natural groupings and we suggest the following order for their study:

Are you ready to change your world?

Do you seek to deepen your insight into manifestation as a creative act?

In this module David Spangler teaches two levels of manifestation, one is the art of harmoniously shaping your world, the other is experiencing manifestation as a spiritual practice that aligns us with the deeper energies within creation and works with the invisible underlying order of the world around us.

Manifestation at its heart is about relationship, to ourselves, to the sacred and to the world around us. It is essentially a co-creative act, an act of communion and community rather than an act of acquisition. It is about incarnating ourselves fearlessly into engagement with our world, honoring ourselves and seeking ways to be a blessing to ourselves and to the world around us. The Manifestation process transforms those who participate in it. Literally you are becoming the person whom you will be when the manifestation succeeds. You are a seed unfolding rather than a magnet attracting. Manifestation is a process of becoming. Although the self-study programs stand alone and you can take them independently of each other.
